This video is generating a lot of discussion amongst the parents in my circle, 
some are right there with him until he pulls out the gun. None agree that it's 
appropriate to shame the kid on the net though. My take on it is that the girl 
didn't get to be that disrespectful in a vacuum. Why is she under the 
impression she can have anything she wants without working for it in the first 
place? Gotta point at the parent there. Why not make her sell the laptop to 
repay the money for the upgrades? Doing chores to help out was expected from 
age 5, and extra chores to earn money for things you wanted were the rules at 
my house. Doesn't seem like she's getting any sort of lesson in appropriate 
adult behavior this way. 

Of course, it's easy to armchair-parent when you don't have teens of your own. 
I claim an exception for raising 3 sisters and spending several years as a 
counsellor dealing with the teens whose parents failed them so badly that they 
wound up in detention centers. I suspect that this girl will pay her daddy back 
by going out and finding another man just like him. Bad examples breed bad 
behavior.
