Do you have any plug-ins or extensions for Safari? Try disabling all of them and see what happens. I leave Safari running on my laptop with 8GB of RAM 24/7 and the Mac is rarely shut down or even restarted. Only when things get screwy. I never have any Safari memory issues. -- Brian
