QUite possibly because the President's job is not to "get gas prices lower", 
but set policy direction for the country on a more sustainable path, and quite 
probably because Obama and Dr. Chu are a LOT brighter than Francis who seems to 
think that the President has a magic wand to wave that will control the avarice 
of oil speculators and the neocon thugs pounding the war drums over Iran 
(incidentally feeding the avarice of those aforementioned speculators)

Note Dr. Chu's COMPLETE response:

"He added, "The overall goal is to decrease our dependency on oil.""

Now that the ratfucker Breitbart is dead (and good riddance to bad rubbish), 
maybe Francis fancies himself as the successor to his "libel by deceptive 
editing" techniques.
