The reality is that implementing spending cuts only better stabilizes a county's debt than a combination of spending cuts and tax increases. Those are facts that the deceitful left does not want you to know. The so-called "balanced" approach the deceitful lefties like Brude and Krudman tout is frequently implemented with more taxes than spending cuts, e.g., $6 in tax increases against $1 in cuts. Anyone with common sense can see that won't reduce debt. Then again, common sense isn't the strong suit of Owebama and the Democrats.
