The saguaro I've been watching has started blooming; I picked up iPhoto for the iPad (based on Andy Ihnatko's review <http://www.suntimes.com/technology/ihnatko/12383842-452/results-make-up-for-awkwardness-of-iphoto-for-ipad.html>, and this Gila woodpecker is the very first result. Not entirely pleased, it looks different on my iMac screen than on the iPad, and boy howdy is Andy right, it's not intuitive at first, but the depth is there...it's more like learning yet another photo application after iPhoto on the Mac and Photoshop. (and Aperture or Lightroom, if you go there) The whole set is here <http://www.flickr.com/photos/35245797@N00/sets/72157629758097214/with/7210456378/> I'll probably play with these in iPhoto on the mac, one thing I've not been able to find is the iPad-iPhoto equivalents of 'shadows' and 'highlights' which boost the darker areas and subdue the brighter areas respectively, I use those a lot. I also found the exposure bracketing stuff on my new Lumix, so I'm going to try some HDR stuff on those saguaro blooms, they're so brilliantly white, it's really difficult to get a good image of the luscious silk-like texture of those petals without making the center of the flower a black hole. -- Bruce Johnson University of Arizona College of Pharmacy Information Technology Group Institutions do not have opinions, merely customs -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "StrataList-OT" group.
