i had to live a version of that, today. i'm on the vendor committee at the market i sell at once a week. there was a big kerfluffle with the once, sole vegetable vendor leaving in a huff after a new farmer showed up with unlike items to sell. the market manager reverted to her (probably) 1950's or 60's farm life, as a metric for what's happening today and about how the 'guvmint' wasn't so "interested" in what everyones' doing. i met with some obstructionism when i said i'd like to know if the stuff i buy is safe or not, to know that things are regulated for safety...there are other things going on as well...one of the rules is things have to be made by the person selling them. well, there's some older woman and her husband who sell prints of other peoples' artwork(they say with permission). and their answer to the obvious remarks about 'they didn't make the artwork'...is that they take photos, do some photoshop work on them, and then re print them(apparently with the artists permission) to sell them...the market manager is not wanting to kick these interlopers out...but i think i got through and pretty well convinced her that she needs to. goofy, dolty teapublicans...
