What a disingenuous comment! You know damned well that teacher's unions establish the rules for which teachers to let go during tough times. Unions fight tooth claw and nail against any merit system. They fight for "seniority" and "tenure." It's why school systems can't get rid of bad teachers. It's why they have to let those without tenure or with lower seniority go first, irrespective of teacher quality.
Teacher's unions suck. The sooner teachers figure that out (and our state legislature) the better our public schools will become. And the fucks in the teacher's unions tried to block homeschooling, too. How? By trying to force parents to acquire teaching credentials before allowing them to teach their own kids.
