The Pegster is correct -- Obama can't make a case for re-election:

On his recent 54-minute speech on the economy:

"It wasn't a case for re-election, it was a wordage dump." (Typical of his
speeches.)

But maybe someone here can make a case for his re-election other than these
themes:

1) It's not so bad—this indicator is up, and that one.

2) OK, it's bad, but it could have been worse—my actions kept us from tanking.

3) It's bad, but it's Bush's fault.

4) It's bad, but it's the congressional Republicans' fault.

5) I have made it less bad, and I need more time to make it even less badder.

6) Rich people have fancy cars and car elevators, I stand for jalopies and
street parking.

Anyone? Anyone?
