Akins beliefs, as well as many of the other GOP "platform" beliefs upon which 
the war on women's bodies is being waged.

One of the simplest errors they've made is assuming that women have to be any 
particular age to be "eligible" for rape. Another is that being raped once is 
some sort of inoculation against being raped again. The most recent data I 
could find on rape/pregnancy statistics was that 32,000 of the women who were 
pregnant due to rape went to Planned Parenthood for medical care in 2011.
