Alison saw this today looking through the local cable TV guide:

And no, this does not appear to be a mockreality series…
The macworld expo always filled local hotels in Manhattan, but so did the fashion
convention that hit the city the same weekend. The first time I noticed this while
entering a hotel lobby with a fellow mac geek, who immediately surveyed the crowd and
said "how binary." At one hotel, the two types converged so constantly that the
geeks kept spontaneously talking about the elevator capacity density - what would be the
most efficient ratio of models to geeks, to not hit the upper load limit?

I went to a Seybold convention once & the convention center had this wide open 3 story escalator that kinda freaked me out from the top floor. Anyway this poor schlep in a Linux penguin plushie outfit had to get downstairs in this outfit with big webbed feet & limited vision..
ugh
The penguin person was freaking as a bunch of printer types tried to escort it down.
