Because not only is this creepy as hell, it's deeply, deeply unethical.
If an academic did something like this they could get fired, or worse,
especially if they used federal finds for the research.
Performing 'experiments' on unsuspecting people is simply wrong; I don't care
what it says, their TOS does not legally allow Facebook to use people as guinea
pigs without their informed consent.
They're doing this crap while people still can't format their text...
