Oh I know that feeling. Years ago (many years...I was using a film camera at 
the time!) I was at the Bronx Zoo, in the bird house, and was set up and 
patiently waiting for a toucan to turn his head again so I could see the lovely 
translucent bill backlit again, and was just about to catch it when a kid ran 
up and yells something about 'froot loops!' and the bird split.
