Translation: “ Apple hasn’t changed their numbering system yet, so we can’t do 
it until we have something to copy”.

More practically, from an IT guy standpoint:

itg: “What version of Windows are you running?”
hapless customer: “Office 2017”.
itg: [long sigh]. “no no no, it’s windows 10-something. press the Windows 
button, and right-click on ‘This pc’ choose ‘Properties’ from the bottom of the 
screen. A window will pop up. Somewhere in there it says Windows 10, and along 
number underneath that, it will be something like 12.345.rf.V2 or something…”
hc: “It says ‘Solitaire V. 2364’”
itg: head->desk [ka-THUNK ka-THUNK ka-THUNK] “Just go buy a Mac….”
