Tim Fennell commented on STS-173:
---------------------------------
Brian,
Could you explain a little more about how you would see these attributes being
used? Why not a single 'group' attribute like:
<s:options-collection collection="${c}" label="name" value="id"
sort="type,name" group"type.description"/>
The way I see it, this still takes a single collection, but renders an option
group tag every time the value of the property defined by 'group' changes.
> Support for <optgroup>

> Key: STS-173

> Issue Type: New Feature
> Components: Tag Library
> Reporter: Brian Nørremark
> Assigned To: Tim Fennell
> Priority: Minor
> Fix For: Release 1.5

> See: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_optgroup.asp
> I know that this may be accomplished by writing the <optgroup>-tags manually,
> a more delicate sollution would however be nice.
> Adding a <stripes:optgroup>-tag would fix part of the problem. Optgroup may
> however also be used in options-collection and options-enumeration be adding
> four properties: groups="collection" grouplabel="group.name"
> groupindex="group.id" groupby="item.group.id".
