commons fileupload requires 2 jars. commons-fileupload.jar commons-io.jar Hardly a slew. Technically it would mean adding 1 extra jar because commons-fileupload.jar would replace cos.jar (already distributed with stripes) and adding commons-io.jar. An MVC framework should support file uploads out of the box. And this isn't a new feature we're adding.
