[ http://mc4j.org/jira/browse/STS-456?page=comments#action_10978 ] Ben Gunter commented on STS-456: --------------------------------
This is fixed for DefaultFormatterFactory. If no formatter is found that exactly matches the target type then the set of registered formatters is searched for the first one that can format a superclass or implemented interface of the target type. The result (null or not) is cached for the target type so that future lookups are very fast. > TypeConverterFactory and FormatterFactory should handle subclasses of their > target type > --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: STS-456 > URL: http://mc4j.org/jira/browse/STS-456 > Project: Stripes > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: Validation, Formatting > Reporter: Ben Gunter > Assigned To: Ben Gunter > Fix For: Release 1.5 > > > Given class A and class B, which extends A, and Formatter<A>, > DefaultFormatterFactory should be able to locate Formatter<A> to format > objects of type B. Likewise for DefaultTypeConverterFactory. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://mc4j.org/jira/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira ------------------------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace.
