The confusion is my fault. Freddy fixed it in 870. I later removed his fix
because it was merely fixing a symptom and hiding the real problem. That was
true to some degree, but it was revealed after the RC that his fix actually did
need to be in there. If you click "Subversion Commits" on this JIRA issue you
can see the revision history associated with it.
