+1, I've thought about this as well.  The existing integration stuff could be 
deprecated, and a < 10 line SpringInstaintator, GuiceInstiantator, etc could 
possibly be provided or not.  My only gripe about it is that anyone committing 
in the future will have to know about it or it will lead to strange bugs.

Any chance 1.5.1 can see a small feature that lets us plugin how beans
are created? Should be pretty simple to wire up - just look for all
newInstance() calls and abstract them out to a factory that can be
plugged in.

I've got my Guice/Hibernate/Stripes/DWR stack almost completely
working now. It turns out Hibernate had the right plugins/extensions
for what I needed, so it's only Stripes that I need to fork right now
;)
