It seems that this behaviour is intended. Stripes 1.5 acts the same way. The
form tag has a lot of complicated tasks that don’t cope well with “add-in
parameters” like {$event} or the like. Fortunately, if you use a
<stripes:submit> and name it with your desired event, it works flawlessly.
You won’t see the desired url, but it’ll work.

I was relying on the article here
http://greggbolinger.blogspot.com/2008/01/stripes-15-feature-clean-urls.html
where it clearly states Stripes JSP tags <s:url />, <s:link />, and <s:form
/> all support Clean URLs.

That's why I was wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks,
Cosmin

Just reread your question… I need to sleep more. Sorry. I’ll give it a try,
and comment again.

Correct me if i’m wrong, but events are selected with the form buttons. HTML
form tags have no understanding of events, and I doubt this will work (POST
mechanics, and such):

<form action=”mybean.action?event=foo”>

You should use a button to select the correct event.

<s:submit name=”addNewToCatalog”>To Catalog</s:submit>

<s:submit name=”addNewToQuestionnaire”>To Questionnaire</s:submit>

Hope it helps.

Asunto: [Stripes-users] Clean URLs and stripes:form

Hi guys,

I am using clean urls with one of my actions:

@UrlBinding("/admin/question.{$event}.action")
public class QuestionAction extends ActionBase {
    @DefaultHandler
    public Resolution addNewToCatalog() throws Exception {...}
    public Resolution addNewToQuestionnaire() throws Exception {...}
    ...
}

I've tried both of these:
<stripes:form action="/admin/question.addNewToCatalog.action">
and
<stripes:form action="/admin/question.addNewToQuestionnaire.action">

However, they both get rendered in:
<form action="/app/admin/question.action" method="post">

Any clue why this happens? (I am using a 1.6 beta that I've just built a
couple of minutes ago).

Thanks in advance,
Cosmin
