Hello,

I'm a new user with an easy question.

Running the quick start example in JBoss, I put the
commons-logging.properties and log4j.properties files in WEB-INF/classes. In
CalculatorActionBean.java, I added some logging statements.

private Logger logger =
Logger.getLogger("net.sourceforge.stripes.examples.quickstart.CalculatorActi
onBean");

and later

            logger.error("Divide by zero error: numberOne: " +
this.numberOne + " numberTwo: " + this.numberTwo);

The messages appeared in the console and in the normal JBoss log file
(server.log), but no /tmp/stripes.log file was created.

Shouldn't the log4j.properties file have been read from WEB-INF/classes,
which is in the classpath? Why am I not getting logging to my log file
specified in WEB-INF/classes/ log4j.properties?

Thanks,

Steve Solomon
