Hi Samuel, After reviewing and experimenting with Freddy's example code, I see what you're describing. Unfortunately, I still can't seem to resolve the problem.
One thing that does stick out is the example code is being compiled using ant and a war file is generated. I am not using ant nor am I creating a war file. I am using Eclipse and my Tomcat configuration points directly to my workspace. My classpath does include all the prerequisite jar files (including displaytag). I'm starting to think I have an installation problem. My browser preference is set to fr, yet the application is using displaytag_en.properties instead of displaytag_fr.properties. If I remove displaytag_en.properties the application uses the displaytag default properties. Something must be overriding my request language preference.
