I have been waiting to bring this up until I understood a few of the
other issues I was confused about, but I need to get it off my mind
so that I can await a discussion. I think I will start a wiki page
on Raible Designs on this subject so that when we do come up with a
solution we can document it. How would you do themes in struts with
tiles? I know that roller does themes, but it sort of cheats by
using velocity and a custom view implementation. If you set up all
your paths in tiles, they are "hardcoded" to the default theme
location. This is where jstl in tiles would really help out because
you could do something like

<put name="header" path="/${theme}/common/header.jsp"/>

Assume that I am offering the user different themes, I could easily do
it server side by just replacing the jsp files from one theme to
another.

Thoughts?

Dan

p.s. If there is a way, this would be a key example for an appfuse
application.

Real programmers just hate to get up in the morning, and
contrary to Ordinary People, they're in better shape as
it gets closer to nighttime.
