Hey Don...

I'm finally getting a little time to put out an actual AjaxTags release, but I don't seem to be able to do all that I need to...

I'm not a SF expert by any stretch, despite having my own project there, so maybe I'm just looking at the wrong things, but it doesn't seem that I can do releases, bug tracker, etc. In fact, when I click the Admin link, I see the following for my permissions:

* You are listed as a developer (not administrator) for this project.
* You cannot perform file release operations on this project.
* You cannot manage documentation (in DocManager) for this project.
* You cannot moderate forums for this project.
* You cannot manage news postings for this project.
* You cannot manage screenshots for this project.
* You cannot manage Tracker items (in all Trackers, by default) for this project.
* You cannot manage Tasks for this project.
* You may access and commit to this project's CVS repository (unless otherwise restricted by a cvs_acls installation).
* Your access to the project web space for this project is blocked; you will not be able to perform group-related operations on the project shell server for this group.

That would seem to indicate I can't do most of the things I need to in order to get a release out. Can you help me out here? Do I need to get you or someone else to do these things for me, or do I need to be granted some rights, or am I simply not trying to do the right things?

Also, I got the site building OK now, and I've created my sub-site (just need to do some final polishing)... haven't checked anything in to CVS though, but I assume based on the above that I won't be able to deploy it anyway (is that something I would do myself in any case?)

Thanks a lot Don!

Frank

Glad to hear it! Pick a short name, and import the project in as a new directory, perhaps 'ajax-taglibs' or something. Once the code is in, ensure the proper infrastructure is available by adding the project to the bug tracker, file releases, etc. Finally, check out struts-site and create your web page. The website is built using forrest and there should be some sort of readme describing how to update the public site.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hello all... about two weeks ago I was involved in a rather lengthy thread
on the Struts developer's list (and also on the users' list) about my idea
of adding so-called "Ajax" functionality to the Struts HTML taglibs.

Well, at this point I am quickly approaching a release! I currently have
the core functionality completed and seemingly somewhat solid, there is
just general release-type stuff to do (documentation, any unit tests,
etc.) and some peripheray development left. I could in all honesty
release what I have this very minute, I wouldn't feel bad doing so, but
another few hours of polishing couldn't hurt.

I would like to release this as a Struts Apps sub-project. I would like
to find out how to go about getting that set up. I am already set up as a
developer, but this would be my first contribution.

Please let me know what needs to happen, how I can be of help, and I will
do so. Thanks all, I look forward to unleashing this upon the
unsuspecting masses :)
