Proposal:
For Struts Release 1.1:
1) Include UML diagrams directly in JavaDoc,
by using the doc-files directory.
2) Have the JavaDoc and Programmers manual cross reference each other,
to the extent that going between the two is seamless.
I have just finished doing this with some JDBC like drivers I have
written.
The package.html overview might contain a Package Level Class Diagram,
Created with SilverRun JD or JRefactory,(Both Free) how doesn't
matter. Ted indicated that
a number of people have produced some nice UML Diagrams already, and
so this
might be a good place to make use of some of them.
Under Related Documentation would be links to programmers documentation
and or examples.
Then at the class level there could be Class Dependency Diagram that shows
which classes a class uses and which classes use it. JBuilder 6 Ent produce
nice compact versions of this, as I am sure other packages do.
Most Importantly,
I feel lucky that my commit privileges are still active, and would like to
contribute. I definitely have time to do this and believe it would be
useful.
