To add to Martins comments, some shared base fields (attributes) may mean different things for different taglibs, depending on the subclass so those shared fields would need multiple tags for different subclasses.
If they mean different things, then they should not subclass in this manner.
The meaning of base class attributes should be common among all subclasses (and their subclasses, and so on).
