Both Tiles and the Validator should be considered "standard extensions".
Keeping them as exensions means that we have a "case in point" proving the extensibility of Struts.
In other words, if the model works for Tiles as an extension, it should work for anything =:0)
This whole discussion proves, that even though Tiles can be integrated as an extension, no other extension can with reasonable effort.
