Another reason - Just like for <jsp:include > tag, we have an IncludeAction, it seems logical to have something like, ExternalIncludeAction for <c:import > ...
Thanks. -----Original Message----- From: Ranjangaonkar, Vaibhav (HQP) Sent: Monday, July 14, 2003 2:39 PM To: Struts Developers List Subject: RE: FW: <c:import > functionality in an Action class ? Thanks David for responding ! Main reason - To be able to use this functionality outside of jsp. OK, my task is something like this - I need to execute a servlet on an external site, get its output and store it in database. Parameters needed for calling this servlet are prepared in an action. Now, I need to write all this code using HttpURLConnection. I can't use <c:import > tag here as the logic should be executed outside Of JSP. If I have an Action doing this, I can take advantage of the built-in code and the task will be much simpler. Since, this looks like common scenario ( because, there is a tag for this ) I think, others will also benefit form this functionality. Please correct me if I am going wrong somewhere ...
