The absolute truth is that "nobody knows".

In practice, we might find that these perceptions are true. Or we may find that these 
perceptions are false. Or, more likely, we will find that they are sometimes true and 
sometimes false. David G doesn't know what will actually happen, neither do I, nor 
you, or even Craig. So, this would just be Craig's best guess against David's best 
guess. May the best guesser win :)

My point is that this type of prognostication doesn't help Struts in any way that 
matters. What helps is people rolling up their sleeves and doing the work. Given the 
vast numbers of developers using Struts, I'm constantly astonished at how hard it is 
to find more people willing and able to do the work. (Except on the user list, where 
I'm constantly astonished at the willingness of users to help other users.)

Sometimes I think market-share actually hurts a project like Struts, since everybody 
thinks somebody else is going to do it :)
