Hi, as described some weeks ago [1], we here at ConSol developed some extensions to Struts, which are now documented, boxed and now released unter the Apache Software License. These extensions, including action doclets, followups, log4j integration, image buttons and some more, can be found on http://www.strutsx.org Any suggestions, critics and bug reports a highly appreciated. As Ted proposed in [2], some process for integrating user provided extensions seems to be necessary. On the site mentioned above, I suggest a hierachy with three layers: * org.apache.struts core struts the lightweight framework as it is now * org.apache.struts.ext "Voted" extensions as suggested by Ted Husted in his mail on struts-dev * org.strutsx A playground for developers with a liberal committing policy, somewhere between Apache and SourceForge. It is intended to be a filter for the voted extensions mentioned above. For the third layer, I plan to establish a process to make the contribution of extension as painless and automatic as possible for both, the contributors and the maintainers. Some thoughts about a possible design are given at the bottom of www.strutsx.org' entry page. What do you think about this idea ? Is it worth the effort ? cu.... -- ...roland huss consol.de BTW, I'm a bit in trouble concerning my time to spent on struts now. I'm in process of changing my living location plus a release date approaching quickly, so I'm afraid, that I won't have much spare time to work on the project until August. However, I think, that the provided extensions are quite useful even in this early stage, so I decided to release them now (as some kind of preview). So please be patient, I will be back with full speed in August.....
