http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=21235 <html:radio>: Make value optional when idName is present Summary: <html:radio>: Make value optional when idName is present Product: Struts Version: 1.1RC2 Platform: All OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: Other Component: Custom Tags AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] I want to render an array of values one of which should be selected via a <html:radio>. The value that should be sent to the server is the index in the array. This doesn't work easily as idName is supposed to be a bean, with the value attribute providing the property name. The code as it stands would already work except for the fact that value is marked as required in the TLD. Making it so only when idName is not present would support my use case. The workaround is to use a primitive scriptlet to render the value, but aren't tags supposed to eliminate that need? :-) <logic:iterate id="label" indexId="serverValue" name="labelsArray"> <html:radio property="currentValue" idName="serverValue" /> <bean:write name="label" /> </logic:iterate> This is report against 1.1RC2, but the problem is still there in 1.1 final.
