the <logic:present> and <bean:write> will not display all of the HttpServletRequest 
attributes.

A parameter is something the user/browser submits (parts of a form, or query 
parameters on the 
URL).  An attribute is something the server-side can attach to a request and carry 
around for 
whatever purposes needed.  This is all straight from the HTTP API in Java.
