Where and when will we use the following code...?

org.apache.struts.config.ModuleConfig appConfig = 
(org.apache.struts.config.ModuleConfig) 
request.getAttribute(org.apache.struts.Globals.MODULE_KEY);

appConfig.getControllerConfig();

Can someone help me with a small example...
