as per the discussion in the above URL, I understand that this could probably be
solved with the "property" attribute of <html:select> too, but once a user has
gone into that much detail to specify each option on its own, they might prefer
to be able to set that attribute in the jsp too and not to have to take the
detour to pre-load the form object with this information prior to loading the
form file for the first time.
