I think than attributes supported depends on the TLD definition not on the
displayer..so

When I try to force the use of the attribute "onclick", it raise an errro
like it is not defined in the corresponding TLD.

The tag I use is :
<layout:menuItem>

Maybe "onclick" has been added recently and I'm not up to date?

Yes, it should be.  Just use the "onclick" attribute.  Hopefully the
displayer you're using supports it.  If not, it should be too hard to
add it.
