using with javascript

Hello all.  Simple question:  is there a way to use JavaScript in the
html:link tag so that the url pops open in a new window?  At the moment,
using something like:
<html:link page="http://myLink..."; onClick =
"window.open("http://myLink...";)> is opening the page twice...once in the
original window, and once again in the new window.

Any suggestions?
