webAppWriter will build you a database maintenance app for you, and Expresso has
most,if not all of the XML functionality that you mention.

Just put a tutorial up on the webAppWriter.com site which shows you how to do an
Expresso test quickly and easily without touching anything on your existing app
server, all on your desktop. Test quickly, chunk it if you aren't impressed.

This is a pictures and arrows type of tutorial, so easy it may be insultingly
easy to some of us. But seems to get the job done.

Also have 33 working and downloadable sample applications on the site, 3 of them
work without registration.

Top end on Expresso is probably thousands of users right now - single box stuff.
So you can't use this as a replacement for EJBs running on distributed and
clustered $200,000 Sun boxes serving billions of hits.
