Hi Reshma, Don't let anyone scare you. I'm sure you must be very savvy, or you wouldn't have gotten the job that you are about to begin.
My advice to you: 1. Do some quick reading of pertinent texts, user guides, how-tos, etc. Do NOT study these as if you are going to be tested on it, that's a waste of time. Just try to get the gist and cram as much high-level information into your head as possible. I like "More Servlets and JavaServer Pages" as a text to give you a whirlwind tour of Servlets and JSPs. 2. Download the Javadoc APIs for J2EE and Struts. Skim the Servlet API javadocs and the Struts javadocs to get a feel of the classes. Consult texts when confused. 3. Pick one of the Struts example applications available on the web, get it running on Tomcat, and then start making modifications to it to test out the features that Struts offers and the framework it provides. Go through this sample application, consult the texts, guides, and JavaDocs when necessary, until you understand EXACTLY how all of the configuration files and components work together. 4. When in doubt about Struts, consult the mail archives on the web and search for the topic in question. If this yields no fruit, post it on the list. Ignore people who give you a hard time. > -----Original Message----- > From: reshma deshpande [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Friday, April 26, 2002 1:57 PM > To: Struts Users Mailing List; [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: RE: some help ... > > > > you people scare me !! but now that since i have already bitten > .. i guess i'll have to chew it too .. kindly help mw with that :-) > "Juan Alvarado (Struts List)" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > wrote: Rahsma, have you ever heard of the phrase "I've bitten off > way more than I > can chew"??? > > ********************************************** > Juan Alvarado > Internet Developer -- Manduca Management > (786)552-0504 > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > AOL Instant Messenger: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > -----Original Message----- > From: reshma deshpande [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Friday, April 26, 2002 4:22 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: some help ... > > > > Hi! > > I have a little question, if you could please answer it... > > I am pretty new to the Java environment (just have read some tutorials on > Java, JSP etc) but dont have much of a real-time coding experience.
