Hi, I'm a very satisfied user of Eclipse! I understand you don't feel it intuitive to you, but I think it's worth the try.
It has great refactoring capabilities (especially with the last release), and great coding helpers like autocompletion of variables, classes and methods (displaying the corresponding javadoc, very useful when you don't want to browse to know what this f***g function does :) ). One of its strength is to build automatically the sources every time you save same. It offers a syntax highlighter (just like in word) to tell where you made a mistake. Some other features I find useful : - generate getters and setters (really useful for Form beans!!) - override (or implement) methods that take the prototype of the overridden or implemented method - and so on ! And last but not least, it's coded in java with swt, so it runs just smoothly with Windows. I've been using IDEA for awhile now and am having problems using Eclipse, it just doesn't seem intuitive to me, and their popup menus are buggy. However, I'd like some feedback from anyone else who has used both. --- thanks --- Larry Young At 05:20 AM 12/31/02 -0500, you wrote: >We don't have an IntelliJ HowTo (yet), but if you've been considering this >very fine IDE, licenses to individuals are being offered at half-price >through January 15. > >http://intellij.com/idea/ > >Since I'm expecting 2003 to be a Very Good Year (knock on wood-grain >laminate), it's the first thing on my TODO list tommorrow. > >-- >Ted Husted, >Struts in Action <http://husted.com/struts/book.html> >Not affiliated with IDEA > > > >-- >To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -------------------------- Larry Young The Dalmatian Group www.dalmatian.com -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
