I have written an application at my employer combing Struts and Lucene to act as our intranet 'document repository.'
I plan on making it 'generic' and I plan on releasing it to the community. When I was looking into Lucene initially, the demo app they include was HORRIBLE and I'm thinking my application will give a better Model 2 scenario of how to use Lucene. As for the second part of your post - I wish I could help you.
