The whole point of sourceforge is to foster the development of open source/free software by providing web hosting, CVS repositories, mailing lists, and most other needs traditionally used by open source software projects.
I think SF is pretty damn cool, but I really wish that they'd (1) go through and clean up all the projects that haven't released any files in their first 1 month of existence, and (2) be given a few million dollars worth of hardware to improve their site performance. (Maybe a J2EE rewrite would help here, but not really sure.)
