So you clarify. Why not on MVC mail list, but here? Oh well.

I agree, it was an honest mistake. But, here are a few reasons
1. Registration was done on 8/27/2003, and I get a welcome email today
2. Registration confirmation email had just one line with no reference to MVC-Programmers in it. Hence I didn't find any reference in my mail box when I did a search on MVC Programmers
3. Email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] as per instructions with "help" in subject didn't work. I still haven't got any response.
4. I never sent a confirmation email to my subscription as per the "one line" registration email. If so, I should have never got any welcome email nor I should be a member of this list.
All these are clear indications to consider emails that are showing up after 40+ days of my "unconfirmed" regsitration as SPAM.

Oh?
<snip> Export Restrictions: This list is not for users in Asia (Excluding Japan), Middle East, Indonesia, Philippines and Africa. </snip>
Seams you did get a registration e-mail? Good!
Thanks!Unless they are in Asia (etc...) it seems. (btw you spelt "New Zealand" wrong.)
well... Im in Asia. ooo naughty naughty. Why Asia cannot? Please explain.
Me back down? :-)

Read above, out today. It's not a balanced eco-system, and I am a libertarian (help myself).
My cost of doing business are high in the West( insurance: health, workers-comp, taxes: state, federal, local re-estate tax; cost of compliance: I have to file forms/payments in 7 states I do business in quarterly; and bureaucrats have no end on entitlements; +cost of litigation, etc)
So while they (Asian companies) can sell software here, I can't sell there ( compare to business friendly, low taxes, high education in Asia; as well as a bit less of IP culture, I can't sell bP there; nor are others able to sell software there, more than one copy).
There are many export restriction for software, bP is one. So I am OK with export restriction on my IP/designs. (some cultures call copying IP as "research". Should bureaucrats make West more competive, and IP culture evolves in Asia, I will reconsider. Oh, I am anti protectisam (protectionisam cuased '29 I learned in school-but not spelling :-( ), I just want a chance to compete even, and be able to sell what I work for, so I can pay my bills/taxes).

...mind you Im pretty sure I *didnt* sign up. The mails just started turning up one day. Perhaps the aforementioned "ANYONE" signed me up, or maybe it was me after all(?), but I sure as heck dont remember doing it!

I went a looked up that on 8/27/2003 a user id "gunturss" registered using BJC.org domain (domain from 4353 Clayton Ave. Suite 212, St Louis) on the home page of baseBeans.com (clicked join), checking in on the * open source Struts based basicPortal *. (The record was stuck on registration for some reason)
Please do not libel anyone. ANYONE can sign up and sign out right on the home page as you can. (No I did not sign you out. You might have problems signgin out if you forward your e-mail, but here is the link to go out (look at bottom of this page) http://www.basebeans.net:8080/mailman/listinfo/mvc-programmers )
Do you see how every post has the above link, ex: http://www.mail-archive.com/mvc-programmers%40basebeans.net/msg00439.html ? So you can't miss it. (Every now and then larger lists (2000 on MVC) have people how join newly and do not know how their mails get forwarded).
Shame less plug: News.baseBeans.com hosts Struts mail list, JDOM mail list, C# mail list, Hibreante, ibatis, etc. ... for FREE! (and no you do not need to sign up if you have a news reader. There are about 18 news groups for experienced developers, some not available elsewhere). I just released a new build yesterday of bP.
Since baseBeans bP is open source, you can see example good practices, such as: http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/basicportal/bPproj/bP/WEB-INF/pgs/foru ms/ArticleLst.jsp This example uses my favorite tag, display tag, with pagination (via iBatis & pgSQL select/limit clause) together with calendar tag (by Matt K.) submitting a struts form bean for a paginated search via a pop up calendar date.
So the list in question is where you can find things like this!

This is not related to struts but is related to this list group.
Has any one else in the group got a subscription confirmation from
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ? I have never heard of this news group before and I have never asked for any subscription. Even if some one did submit my id, I would have expected a confirmation email before my subscription bacame active.
I have also sent an email to unsubscribe instructions email and haven't
heard back. Was wondering any one else in this list got spammed or is it just me?
