What errors are you getting?
We had a lot of classloader problems running apps that have ejbs and web
components.
We settled on building an EAR with all jars in the EAR file and not in
WEB-INF/lib

Subject: Re: Struts EJB deployment

Hi Manfred,

Thanks in advance for getting back to me on this one.

My problem is that I can happily create a Tomcat project that allows me to
deploy my Struts to Tomcat's webapp directory, and everything works fine. I
am using Sysdeo's Tomcat plugin.

I can also create a JBoss project that that allows me to deploy my J2EE
componenets to JBoss's server/all/deploy directory, and my EJBs run fine. I
am using Lomboz plugin.

If I create a JBoss project and add Tomcat support, when I deploy the
project to JBoss, the container has problems with displaying JSPs, which I
suspect is because of the Struts tags...

If I create a Tomcat project, I can add EJBs via the Lomboz wizard, but I
get errors when trying to access my EJBs.

I have trawled both the JBoss and Tomcat sites & forums with no luck in
finding out a solution. Is it better to try using a JBoss/Tomcat bundle,
e.g. 3.2.2, or am I better off trying to deploy the web components
separately to the J2EE components, i.e. on different machines?

This problem is starting to become a bottle-neck for my project.

Any help/advice is VERY welcome.

Regards,

Rick.

Tell us what is exactly your problem. I have a productive system with
the same product stack and have no problem. Put Struts in your Webapp
and nothing should go worth.

I have successfully run all the Struts examples and developed some of my own
(deployed using Tomcat 4.1.27). However, I am now in the process of
developing Struts components to interface with a number of EJBs that I have
previously developed (deployed using JBoss 3.2.1). Although I don't have any
prob's with incorporating both technologies (yet), I AM having problems when
attempting to deploy Struts + EJBs.

little if no useful info on getting the two to work together. :-|
