I'm not with you. The data flow is always only one way - the user makes a request (possibly including data as either request parameters, and/or as form values using POST); the action does some work and modifies that request in some way (e.g. adding some request/session scope attributes); the jsp displays something (probably using the attributes set in the action and/or the request paramters set by the user) So, I'm not really sure what yopu mean by 'the other way'.
