Indonesia not to replace Telkom directors at meet

JAKARTA, March 15 (Reuters) - Indonesia is not looking to replace directors
of state telecommunication giant PT Telkom (NYSE:TLK - news) (quote from
Yahoo! UK & Ireland: TLKMq.L) at a forthcoming meeting, State Enterprises
Minister Tanri Abeng said on Monday.

"The next shareholders meeting of Telkom is not aimed at replacing the
directors. Instead it would be a usual one,'' Abeng told reporters in
Jakarta.

Telkom is expected to hold the meeting on April 16.

Abeng has earlier suggested that Indonesia might consider replacing Telkom
directors at the meeting.

On Monday Abeng also confirmed that Indonesia plans to issue bonds in two
weeks to make up any shortfall in income from the country's privatisation
programme.

Abeng said that under the privatisation programme, Indonesia plans to raise
$1 billion and so far had earned $151 million and 500 billion rupiah.
