Its funny how this only happens in Stumpwm, All of the other tiling WMs I
have used(DWM, Awesome, ION, Xmonad) don't lag at-all when the frames are
resized.

If I try to (setf stumpwm:*window-border-style*) I just get a
*window-border-style* not found in the stumpwm package error. The border
does fill the gaps as you are saying, but I would prefer it if there were
no gaps to get filled up ;)
