We all strive to make our home theater systems sound as good as we possibly
can. New speakers, that high-end DVD player and some fresh new cables will
bring your room to audio nirvana, right? Yes, having the best gear your bank
account will allow can certainly help, but how much have you thought about your
acoustics? There is nothing like the sweet sound of a room that has been
properly tuned for optimum sonic performance.

Closer
Reviewed by Bill Warren
Rating: Four-and-a-Half Stars

Closer is not a romantic comedythe concept of romance rarely raises its head
and the film is too biting and caustic to be funny, though its often witty.
The title is somewhat ironic, although not entirely: these four people do get
closer, but never close enough. Its based on Patrick Marbers 1997 play; his
screenplay is as tightly-focused as the play must have beenthere are only four
characters; no one else even has dialog (other than in passing). It covers four
years in the lives of these people, but we see only the beginnings and ends of
the love affairs at the center. Its not as bitter as director Mike Nichols
earlier Carnal Knowledge or as harsh as his debut movie, Whos Afraid of
Virginia Woolfat the end theres a hint of a promising future for one
characterbut is as engrossing.

Why tinker with noisy, distorted AC power when you can replace it with
PurePower at the point of use?

Most power conditioners are nothing more than glorified surge protectors with
noise filters. PurePowers breaktrough AC Regenerator replaces the incoming AC
by converting it to DC, then back to AC again with no noise, no distortion, on
a perfect voltage sinewave.

"Transformerless" design means 90% efficiency; PurePower does not eat up a lot
of current powering itself. Integrated battery backup is a bonus, protecting
DLP/LCD projector lamps and DVR recordings, as well as sensitive electrical
components in the system, from improper shut-down.

The Reference3 Speaks For Itself

"... Not since the Vandersteen 2 has a loudspeaker come on to the audio scene
with such assuredness of success. Not since the Vandy has a speaker so outpaced
the competition in terms of quality and value at its price point as has this
Gallo loudspeaker." Martin DeWolf - Bound For Sound

"... This speaker combines so much unconventional thinking, novel applications
and build quality in such a balanced, physically compact but sonically
gargantuan and full-range design, and for such an exceedingly fair price that
some drastic measure of formal recognition was required to truly separate it
out from the crowds that make up the $3,000 - $10,000 floorstanding speaker
field." Srajan Ebaen - sixmoons.com

Read More Julia Roberts DVD Reviews on RHT...

Ocean's Eleven
"Oceans Eleven" is a film that is fun the first time and improves on repeat
viewings, a "howd they do it?" thats even more enjoyable when youre in on
the storys tricks.

Reportedly, this remake is a lot better than the 1960 original (still unseen by
this reviewer). In its day, the first "Oceans Eleven" was seen as the epitome
of cool mainly due to its heavy-duty Rat Pack cast: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin,
Sammy Davis, Jr., Peter Lawford and their friends. Alas, by all accounts, the
cool factor was the sole draw, as most viewers didnt feel that the 1960
"Oceans Eleven" hung together very well as a movie.

This is not the case with the hip, vigorous new edition...

Runaway Bride
"Runaway Bride" reunites the stars, Julia Roberts & Richard Gere, and director,
Garry Marshall, of the hit romantic comedy "Pretty Woman," and while this isn't
up to that level, it's a warm, funny and touching movie in its own right. It
got some cranky reviews, partly from people who preferred Roberts' other
romantic comedy of 1999, "Notting Hill." But here, the storyline not only
hearkens back to the screwball comedies of the 1930s, it almost seems like a
remake of a hitherto-unknown Katharine Hepburn/Cary Grant or Katharine
Hepburn/Spencer Tracy comedy.

Gere is Ike Graham, a columnist for USA Today, more than a little bitter about
his divorce from Ellie (Rita Wilson), who's now married to his photographer
friend Fisher (Hector Elizondo).
