"Family First" Home Theater

Family is first and foremost for this client of Elite Custom Audio & Video in
Montclair, CA. When the client came to John Gilmore and his talented team of
installers and designers to put in a purpose-built theater in this home in the
hills just east of the San Gabriel Valley in Southern California, it was
important that there be enough room in the theater for big get-togethers where
the families good enjoy their favorite films. The client also wanted a look and
color scheme that hadnt been done to death in other theaters and, most
importantly, a big and bright picture and sound that has the same emotional
impact as the local multiplex theaters without the hassle of waiting in line at
the box office window.

Moving from the bright, white-toned walls of the living room through a set of
French doors into the theater, the deep cherry wood and blue color scheme is
striking and inviting at the same time. It feels as if you have stepped both
backward and forward in time simultaneously.

Take a look inside...

Revolution Home Theater Film Reviews

Cursed
Reviewed by Bill Warren
Rating: One and a half Stars

Both director Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson (who did the three
Scream movies) have complained about the treatment this film received by
distributor Dimension, the schlock arm of Miramax. The movie was originally
completed with an R rating, but Dimenson clumsily cut out all the gorier
moments, essentially emasculating the movie. What were they expecting? This is
about werewolves, and they have long claws and sharp teeth; the audience simply
expects a certain level of violence. But the released version of Cursed is
annoyingly tame. Early on, one of the characters exclaims we saw a girl torn
apart! You couldnt prove it by mein that sequence, we dont even see a
single drop of blood.

Anthony Gallo Acoustics
The Reference3 Speaks For Itself

"... Not since the Vandersteen 2 has a loudspeaker come on to the audio scene
with such assuredness of success. Not since the Vandy has a speaker so outpaced
the competition in terms of quality and value at its price point as has this
Gallo loudspeaker." Martin DeWolf - Bound For Sound

"... This speaker combines so much unconventional thinking, novel applications
and build quality in such a balanced, physically compact but sonically
gargantuan and full-range design, and for such an exceedingly fair price that
some drastic measure of formal recognition was required to truly separate it
out from the crowds that make up the $3,000 - $10,000 floorstanding speaker
field." Srajan Ebaen - sixmoons.com

NAD PowerDrive - So smart, it knows what your speakers are thinking

They say that knowledge is power. So when it comes to reacting to the
constantly fluctuating power needs of today's loudspeakers, an A/V receiver has
to be very smart indeed. Most A/V receivers fail the test and you hear
distortion. NAD's dual-rail power supply knows when your speakers need extra
help to deliver clean, undistorted sound. The result is honor roll performance
for your movies and music.

Revolution Home Theater Featured DVD Reviews
Read Two More Wes Craven DVD Reviews on RHT...

Scream
While a similar barrage of predictable slashing and thrashing has been done
before, horror master Wes Craven cranks up the production values, updates the
dialogue and smartens up the characters to bring this tired genre into the
'90's.

Basically, you already know the story. Some psycho is running around and
grotesquely killing high school kids, though the victims in Scream are a whole
lot tougher than generations past. These victims get in some good kicks and
punches before their untimely deaths. All I can say, without giving anything
away, is that the use of cordless and cellular telephones delivers an
inventiveness in stalking terror that will bring you right out of your seat.

The general ambivalence of the victim's high school classmates...

Swamp Thing
Poor Swamp Thing; ever since he was created for DC comics by writer Len Wein
and artist Bernie Wrightson, he's been hounded by the government, mad scientist
Arcane, miscellaneous monsters -- and finally by the movies, but that turned
out better for him. Prompted no doubt by the smash success of 'Superman' in
1979, producer Benjamin Melniker partnered with comic book-loving Michael Uslan
to make this film, written and directed by Wes Craven -- who was determined to
do Swamp Thing justice.

And for the most part, surprisingly enough, he did. The problems with 'Swamp
Thing' lie not in the script or Craven's leisurely if reasonable direction, but
in the fact that there just wasn't enough money to make the film right. William
Nunn's Swamp Thing suit never looks for a fraction of a second like anything
other than a man (Dick Durock) in a rubber suit.

Theres a real BOB behind every Sunfire product.

Ever seen a photo of Ronnie Rotel or Dick Denon? Unlike huge faceless
corporations, Sunfire is the unique, personal vision of one audio genius, Bob
Carver.

Most audio geniuses would be content to have founded just two landmark audio
companies. But after creating Phase Linear and Carver Corporation, Bob still
had more innovative technology in his system. He wanted to express these ideas
in meticulously-built, premium audio products that would offer exceptional
value and sound quality.

And thats what you get when you buy Sunfire. A great product from the mind and
soul of Bob Carver.
