The companies started meeting back in February over concerns that two similar formats would be confusing to consumers. An unnamed Toshiba official was quoted by the Japanese Kyodo News agency as saying "it is regrettable but unavoidable that two formats will remain." The companies have issued no official statements. Toshiba claims manufacturing costs for HD DVD are lower while Sony considers Blu-ray's higher storage capacity more important. Both companies have their eyes on potential royalties but with neither camp backing down it looks like they are set to battle it out on the market, forcing consumers to define which format will ultimately take off. This will just add to the initial confusion among consumers, many whom don't actually understand how to buy HD on a disc. Consumers don¹t want a format war and developers will lose too because adoption will be slowed down as consumers hesitate to invest on hardware before a clear leader emerges... Once Upon a Time and New Gold Dream are separate Simple Minds albums that have each been re-released in a DTS DVD-Audio format. The sound is very good, needless to say (more on that later), but I'll point out here that Once Upon a Time is the most famous Simple Minds album, though it does not contain the most famous song by the group.
