Sonos Digital Music System Convergence is a terminology and process that seems to have permeated every facet of our daily experiences. Convergence technologies will eventually be ubiquitous in every aspect of our lives. So what is ³convergence technology²? It all depends on the type of application. It includes, but is not limited to, the popular act of taking pictures with a cell phone or surfing the Web on a television. More sophisticated uses include wireless and wired voice and data transmissions, various forms of security, voice over IP and data networking technologies, all converging to create a seamless integration and solution for our personal and professional needs. Nowhere is this more evident than the merging of consumer electronics and personal computers. There are a plethora of companies that are providing unimaginable functionality that was science fiction a mere decade ago. The Longest Yard A not very faithful rendition of the original, ³The Longest Yard² really doesn¹t give any semblance of feeling that these players are trapped in a prison. Though the guards are mean, where the inmates practice makes it look like anyone can escape with a little bit of planning. The funniest thing about this is that director Peter Segal and the production designers comment on how fierce and tough the prison looks. But come on, what was anyone expecting? This is not a commentary about society or prisons or even football, it is a testosterone-filled foray into hard-hitting football comedy. Taking into account the fact that there are almost 50 minutes of deleted scenes and alternate endings, I struggle to understand how this movie ended up being so short. Maybe it¹s because it¹s so bad and lacks any real humor, except perhaps at the lowest common denominator, but even then I did not laugh once, not once. Choose between two fully loaded 7- channel digital audio/video surround receivers. The normal retail price for these two units is $700 or $1,000. Evolution Audio & Video and the unmentionable manufacturer are now offering these models for either $499 or $699. That¹s a whooping 30% off retail pricing! Both these digital surround receiver models are factory refurbished by the original manufacturer. What does that mean? Simply put, you receive a 2 year manufacturer¹s warranty instead of a 3 and, you save a ton of money. Enough said! Need more information? Why wait? Quantities are limited. The 865 bested models from Denon, HK and Pioneer Elite in a Home Theater shoot out for sound quality while the 965s have been compared to famous luxury sports sedans. What the reviewers didn¹t know is that both are now even better. We¹ve added SNAP: Sherwood Newcastle¹s Automatic Parametric EQ to all 7 channels and the subwoofer.
