Dear AVRev.com Readers,
I am writing to you on behalf of one of our
best clients and close personal friends at Richard Grays Power
Company. As many of you know, RGPC is a New Orleans based company who much
like many of the families and business in the area were hard hit by the
powerful effects of hurricane Katrina. Of 180 square miles surrounding New
Orleans, 160 square miles were flooded and severely damaged. Since the
disaster, Richard Grays Power Company has diversified its operations
to locations in areas ranging from Philadelphia to Chicago to Canton, Fort
Worth and Austin, as well as retaining its base in New Orleans and the
business amazingly continues to grow in markets both domestically and
overseas.
The biggest loss for Richard Grays Power Company during
hurricane Katrina was the failure of a damaged server that contained over
600 of their Hows Your Power system audits. RGPCs
campaign with AVRev.com as well as other print and online publications is
based around the idea of these system evaluations. Literally, the staff at
RGPC are hardcore audiophiles and home theater buffs who can talk AC power
or any other element of your home theater. Need advice on what AV preamp to
buy? They will help. Want to talk about the difference between power cords?
They have an opinion. And with the warm, welcoming hospitality we all love
about New Orleans, the RGPC people are a pleasure to deal with.
While they are still in the process of recovering and answering all
the pre-Katrina information previously lost due to the storm, my request to
you, our readers, is if you had once filled out a Richard Grays Power
Company Hows Your Power form but never heard from them
would you call them at 800.880.3474 or resubmit
a form to them now that they are more capable of responding? If you
never submitted a request but have questions about your system at any
number of levels as you are planning an upgrade, you may also want to give
the RGPC guys a call.
Many thanks for your consideration in this matter.
Sincerely,

Please Note: The images in this
email were shot by AVRev.com writer, Ben Shyman, on a very recent trip to
New Orleans Ninth Ward. Nine months after the disaster, the streets
of New Orleans remind me in some ways of the ravaged streets of Baghdad. I
want to offer special thanks to Ben for the rights to use these photo to
illustrate just how drastic the damage and destruction in New Orleans still
is to this day. Click images for larger versions.
